NEWS: Locus to support Manchester BID renewal

Manchester’s Business Improvement District (BID) has appointed Locus to support them in their third renewal bid later this year.

Supporting a consortium of over 400 leading retail and hospitality brands in central shopping areas, Manchester BID has played a crucial role in connecting people, projects and ideas to support the local city centre economy.

Their hard work and dedication to make Manchester become one of the most vibrant, attractive, and resilient city centres in the country was especially felt during the global pandemic. Many of the initiatives introduced then, are still helping businesses now. With their second term coming to an end, Manchester BID will, once again, be calling for support to ensure these important initiatives to continue for another five years, as well as exciting plans for further growth and development.

The Locus team, which has vast knowledge and experience in BIDs, will provide technical support to Manchester BID throughout this process with the aim of securing a third term. It becomes another city centre that BID that has partnered with Locus.

Paul Clement, CEO of Locus comments:

“I am thrilled that we have been appointed to provide advice to the Manchester BID team as they head towards a ballot for their third term. This is a BID that has excelled in terms of its delivery over the past 9-years, particularly on its support to business throughout the period of the pandemic. Manchester is a thriving, vibrant city and I always enjoy the time that I spend there.”

Vaughan Allen, CEO of CityCo comments:

“We look forward to working with Locus as we prepare for ballot in December. A third term for Manchester BID will mean building on the last decade of work in making the city centre one of the most successful in the country. It will mean even more investment in major events, attracting customers, support for ESG initiatives, a full city-welcome programme and support for cleaning and greening.”
